Skill Building in Mathematics and Logic

Teaching Students How to Analyze and Improve Their Math Scores

It has been said the math is the civil rights issue of the Twenty-First Century.  Nationwide there is a great disparity in the math skills level of Blacks and Latinos versus those of Whites and Asians.  The graph below shows the percentage of various ethnic groups who rated as “proficient” or “advanced” on the 2000 National Education Goals Panel 12th grade assessment tests.

NJ LEEP knows that it does not have to be this way.  Math education is not only important in its own right, but it teaches the “transferable skills” of organized, logical, analytical thinking which are essential in all academic realms.

All NJ LEEP College Bound students will participate in a math and logic skills development curriculum in their ninth to twelfth grade years.
